Place all ingredients in heavy pot.  Cook on med to low for about an hour or until desired thickness. Btw I used honey crisp apples. They r sweeter, therefore no added sugar required. My kinda sauce!

All done and ready for canning. Make sure u have your canning supplies sterilized and ready. I used pint sized jars. Remove cinnamon stix. Add ground cinnamon to taste if u want more cinnamon flavor.

Fill jars leaving at least a half inch of head space. Put seals on and gently twist covers on just until tight. Don't make it too tight! Process in boiling water bath for 20 minutes. I got 3 1/2 pints

  • 6lbs of apples peeled and cored and cut into chunk
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 1and 1/4 cup of fresh apple cider
  • 1/4c lemon juice
