Lay paper color side up
Fold the diagonal; crease
Unfold
Fold other diagonal; crease
Unfold
Turn paper over
Fold in half; crease
Unfold
Fold the other half; crease
Unfold
The finished preliminary base
Fold right side of top layer to the center crease
Lift and squash the flap
Be sure to align the creases carefully
Crease
Fold left side of top layer to the center crease. Lift and squash flap like you did with the other side
Turn over
Repeat with these sides
Fold the left-hand flap to the right ( like turning a page in a book)
Fold the top layer of lower left edge to the center crease
Repeat the rest of the edges (both sides should look like this)
Rotate 180 degrees
Fold the lower flap upward between the widest points; crease
Unfold
Fold the topmost layer of the upper flap down as far as it will go
Fold the flap on the right across to the left; fold the topmost layer of the upper flap down as far as it will go
Repeat
Repeat
Place your fingers inside the gap at the top and gently open the model
Sharpen the creases around the base
Voila! The star box!
