STEPS
TOOLS
Color side up. My paper is about 2 inches.
Fold in half. Unfold.
Fold in half other way. Unfold.
Fold in half diagonally. Unfold.
Fold in half diagonally other way. Unfold.
Pinch in the sides...
To squish flat.
Make a total of 6 & open them into an "x" shape.
Insert tip into pocket of another.
Like this.
Insert another into opposite pocket. Red has filled two pockets opposite each other, so now it's other two parts become tips, not pockets. Only one set of pockets opposite each other for each color.
Pink & orange have tips being inserted into pockets of yellow because opposite is also tips. You can see pink & orange will now only have pockets left.
This guy gets tricky to hold. Try to hold same way I do. Now we're going to work on this side. Pay attention to which are pockets & which are tips. Red & yellow = tips; pink & orange = pockets.
It's easier to insert tips into pockets first. You're going to wish you had another set of hands. I help hold mine together by holding it against chest. Maybe someone will let you borrow their hands.
See? Red popped out, so I have to wiggle his behind back in there.
Once you finally get that guy on there, hold it like this. Mine always ends up in my right hand at this point.
Inserting tips into blues pockets. Make sure each color has a set of tips & a set of pockets that are opposite each other. Otherwise, this fella will not go together at this point & fall apart.
Finally done. Hold like this & blow. It's very pretty once you figure it out. It works best if you blow slightly from top. You'll find it spinning right out of your fingers if you don't.
I found it works easier to put it between your palms & blow. By the way, these make great ornaments or mobiles!
