How to make an iphone sleeve for under $5

My hubby is crazy over not hiding the beautiful design of our iPhone with a clunky case. The only problem is that w/o a case my phone is getting scratched to bits. So I #created one myself, enjoy.

Using your spool of thread as a template, make a half circle on one end.

I switched the needle in my machine to a heavy duty needle. The vinyl isn't too thick but I didn't want to take any chances of my regular needle breaking.

Fold your vinyl in half and sew along both long edges with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

I wanted a tighter fit so I sewed another seam about 1/8 inch INSIDE of my original seam. I think it gives it a nicer finish as well. Trim the excess fabric on the long ends and you are done.

I simply cut some shapes out of my leftover fabric and attached buttons. I glued them to the front of the sleeve with Fabri-tac and allowed it to dry.
