Start by peeling the apples

Core them

Cut them into halves

Now sprinkle them generously with lemon juice

In the tin, which u will use to cook the tart too, put the butter, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg

Cook them over medium heat until caramelized (darker than the picture) it will take 7-9 minutes

Arrange the apple halves. Fit them tightly as they will shrink while u cook them. I added more cinnamon as I love it with apples

Return the tin to heat and leave it to cook for 20-25 minutes.

Half the way through

Let the apples cool slightly then cover with puff pastry... Tuck the edges inside the pan
Cook in a preheated oven (230C) for 30 minutes

Let it cool for 10 minutes

Now to serve, run a sharp knife around the edge of the pan... Cover with a serving plate, hold them tightly and invert

Here we go :-)

U can serve with whipped cream or ice cream
