Poke a hole in the top portion of the egg. (The eggs I had, already had a tiny hole, I just enlarged that a bit)
Pull the twine through and tie a knot, thick enough that cannot be pulled through. (This is going to hold the twine to the egg to help get you started)
Pull the twine taut on top of the egg and make a small loop. (This will be the stem)
Wrap twine around your loop a few times to hold the loop in place.
Spread tacky glue over top of egg.
Start coiling twine....
Coil twine evenly next to each 'loop', not overlapping, but lying smoothly next to each coil...
Continue to add glue and coil twine.
Glue will dry clear.
Glue & coil twine to the bottom of the 'top' of the egg. Cut end of twine and add an extra bit of glue to hold down end of snipped twine. Open egg and let dry overnight on wax paper.
These make fun place cards for a holiday table. They can be filled with candy or mini toys. You can add a tiny tag and write recipients name, or use a Sharpie to write names on bottom of egg.
