How to make a zucchini swan

Place your cutting board of your choice on your table.

Grab your tourne knife and place it on the cutting board.

Get you a Zucchini, rinse it and place on cutting board.

Turn your Zucchini horizontal, then place your knife on the Zucchini not to far away from the center but closest to the bottom of the Zucchini.

CUT WITH CURVED SIDE OF KNIFE.

Cut straight down, and you should end up with 2 pieces like this.

Sit your bottom piece that's the shortest and place upward, and move your other long piece to the side. You will use it later.

To make the feathers for the top of the swan, slant your knife and cut at the top so that the cut will be slanted and curved.

Do the same on the other side, making sure each cut connect at the top and bottom.

Once you cut it, cut it all the way out and slide it backwards just a little so that you can see the inside part of the Zucchini.

Do the same on both sides AGAIN, but this time a little below the first cut.

Do this again and again 5 times on both sides, going a little under the one you did before each time.

Slide back each time once you finish a cut on both sides. MAKE SURE TO CONNECT EACH CUT YOU DO ON BOTH SIDES, at the top and bottom.

After you cut 5 times for both sides, and push it backwards just a little, you will see 6 layers.

Now to make your wings. Go on the side of your Zucchini in the center and place your knife to cut.

Cut the same way you did on the top, slant your knife and curve the cut on both sides.

Take out the cut you just made.

Now cut a little further away from the cut you made, and cut it the same way you cut the one above it. Making sure to connect the bottom and top, so it could be slide backwards.

Should look something like this once you place it back in and slide it backwards to look like a wing.

Now to make the head of the swan.

Cut through the Zucchini again only using the top of Zucchini now and pushing the middle off to the side.

Now once you stand it up cut the Zucchini on one side, all the way down.

Do the same on the other side leaving the middle to its self.

Place the outer two sides to the side and use the middle piece to carve the head of the swan.

Place down on either side.

Cut diagonally just a little line to start off the head.

Start your cut from that line and drag the cut all the way down.

Should look like this afterwards.

Shave your head a little to your liking.

Now carve the eyes into one side by digging the knife in the Zucchini where an eye would go, and turn your knife in a circle.

REPEAT THE SAME TASK ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SWANS HEAD. Should look like this after you take out the piece that was inside the circle.

Now grab a toothpick and stick it directly in the bottom center of the head of the swan. And stick it half way in there.

Grab two peppercorns for the eyes on both sides.

Stick in both sides pretty deep so it can stay inside.

Will look like this.

Now place the toothpick over the last layer you see.

This is the last layer and the center of it.

Stick all the way down. And now you have a head.

Now to make your TAIL. We are starting off with doing a tail hole. Go to the back of the swan and place your knife over the middle.

Cut the hole just like you cut the wings and feather but make it small, not TOO small.

Take out the insides of the hole you make.

Now to make the tail. GET your MIDDLE piece of Zucchini that you scooted off to the side and use that. Place it up right and cut of a little chunk at the bottom of it.

Will look like this. USE THE SMALLER PIECE THAT YOU CUT OFF.

Cut small diagonally pieces on both sides closer to the edge. Leaving the middle.

Push the small two cuts to the side and use the middle piece.

Cut off that small triangle pointing at the end.

Then turn it upward and cut of the vegetable part of the Zucchini and leave the skin, with just a little vegetable on it.

Now cut triangles on the shorter side, all down that side.

Cut off excess end to make a little skinnier.

Now stick the wing inside the hole in the back of the swan leaving the triangles cut sticking out.

The look you should have.

YOU CAN STOP HERE IF YOU WANT. The next step is extra steps that are not REQUIRED. The next step are trees.

Only if you want to you can do this. So take a piece of the side top of the Zucchini that you cut off in step 21-24. And use that for this tree.

Start from the bottom of the stem and cut triangles along the side all the way to the bottom.

Then pull apart the pieces from the triangle.

Will look like this. Now do the same process on the other side that isn't cut yet.

When you pull them apart, then your tree will look like this and YOUR'E DONE!!
