STEPS
INGREDIENTS
To get a jump-start on All Hallow’s Eve, we’ve partnered with PERDUE® Chicken to cook up the ultimate frightful meal, because it’s a spoooooky night worth celebrating.
Follow these five easy steps for a tasty, juicy Witches’ Stew. You’ll need some dramatic flair to really give you goosebumps, so we served the piping hot stew in colorful squash bowls.
Gather your ingredients.
Cut your onions. Place the chicken breasts and chopped onions into the slow cooker.
Add the salsa verde.
Stir together.
Set the timer for three and a half hours on high or seven hours on low. It’s that easy — leaving plenty of time for a scary story or two!
Once the stew is done cooking, remove the PERDUE® chicken breasts and shred them.
Add the chicken back into the slow cooker. Give it one final stir and you’re done.
Make it more festive by serving in colorful squash bowls: Cut off the top of the squash, scoop out the insides and spoon the stew inside of them.
Don’t forget to top off your Witches’ Stew with a dollop of sour cream and some fresh cilantro. The devil is in the details!
- 2.0 PERDUE® Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
- 32.0oz chili verde or tomatillo salsa
- 1.0 large yellow onion, diced
- 1/4c cilantro, for garnish
- sour cream
