How to make a vintage statement necklace in 5 seconds

Remember playing dress-ups as a kid? Chances are you've still got a box of costume jewelry buried somewhere in the back of your closet. Why let it go to waste? Here's one way to make it pretty again!

Here are the supplies. You can use any colour of beads and any style brooch...it's up to you! My beads are literally ones I used to play with as a kid.

My mother gave me this vintage floral brooch several years ago and I've never used it...

Make sure your brooch has a pin or clip attached to the back.

Straighten out your necklace and lay it flat.

Fold it in half.

Put the folded necklace behind your neck, so the ends hang down in front.

Open the pin on the back of the brooch and use it to carefully clip the two ends of the necklace together. And that's it~ vintage chic!

In case you didn't get that: open out the ends to form a rain drop shape...

...and clip both strands of beads together with your brooch!

This would look just as pretty with a strand of faux pearls. You could also use a bow or any other hair clip instead of a brooch.
