How to make a unique origami gift box (easy!)
A thicker paper like cardstock is sturdier. Perfect for Valentine's Day or a secret gift on the tree. Adapted from Tweety Atelier's blog.
Pics in guide go top left, clockwise. 2 papers, I used 6" & 3". Bigger square for box. Box--Color side down, fold in 1/2. Fold left & right edge to center. Fold bottom up, not quite to top edge.
Fold top edge down & tuck inside front flap. You can stick finger in cuz this is going to be opening of box. Fold top left & right corner to center. It forms upside down "v".
Pinch that "v" on top layer to a mountain fold as shown (put finger in opening to pinch crease). Squeeze into box shape (a pyramid). Box done. Heart--fold in 1/2 both ways. Fold top edge to center.
Turn over. Fold top left & right corner to center. Turn over. Fold top tip to bottom edge. Turn over...
Slide finger under flap as shown & squash flat. Repeat on left side. Now fold top right corner down as shown. Repeat on left side...
Fold top right tip down as shown. Repeat on left (glue both down). Fold left & right edge to center, unfold. Cut as shown. Fold that same piece I'm touching up (last pic)...
Now fold bottom left corner up (pic1). Repeat on those 2 folds on right. Slap glue on there & refold left n right tips to center. Turn over. Heart done. Tuck white tips into pockets of box...
And your done! To add string for hanging--place a small piece of tape inside the back of box at the top for extra security & thread a string thru. Fill w/ candies or tiny surprises. Enjoy 💖
