How to make a solargraphic camera (or just a pinhole)

Select your can and empty it. This is the toughest step...

Carefully with scissors or a box cutter cut the lid off your can. Take care of sharp edges

Tape up the cap, closing the hole. I keep the tab as a extra later, but you can pop the tab out if you want

The lift tab is removed to minimise and light entries

I tape the edges and cut a small square hole in the can partway down. Around 1cm square but it's size it's not vital

This is my hole. I do cut off the extra bit.

Cover the hole with tinfoil. The foil must cover the complete hole you made earlier

Take your photo paper, scissors, tape and can parts to a dark room.. Must be in the dark!! Cut your paper to approximate size and fit to the inside of the can. Tape it clear of the hole!!

Still in the dark!! Tape the lid to the rest of the can. The seal it up,

Turn on the lights and seal more. Cant have too much tape. It's going outside!!

Don't prick the tin yet!!

Mount your tin where it won't freak people out, facing the sun. Leave a sign on it if you like. Once it's secure get a pin and make the tiniest hole in the tin. Now.... Come back in 3,4,5 6 months

After waiting 6mths or your own time frame... A year if you like.. Take you paper out of the camera in a dim Room and scan directly to the computer. Use editing software to flip the image etc.

Your original image will now fade away.. You have not had to do any developing ... :-) make sure though that you have scanned the image and saved it. There is no going back unless you wait again..
