Gather your supplies. Find your favorite recipe...I chose chocolate.
Cut the layer in half.
Stack the two pieces.
Cut the stack in half. You now have 4 pieces. I'm only using three of the pieces, the fourth was used as quality control (ie hubby ate it) :-)
Put a smear of frosting on your serving dish. This will help keep the cake from sliding.
Place one wedge of cake on your smear.
Cover with a small amount of frosting.
Finish stacking your layers with a small amount of frosting between each layer of cake.
Cover the cake with frosting. Try to get it as smooth as possible. Place it in the refrigerator so the frosting gets hard. You can serve it just like this or...
You can decorate it! I have used candy clay to make my decorations. You can also use fondant or colored frosting to decorate your cake slice.
