Day 1: Use 1 teaspoon of gel food coloring: red, blue, yellow, and violet. Place 1 color in each glass or jar, and fill with water only enough to create a thick liquid.
Cut your rose stem to 6 to 8 inches below the bud. Split the stem of the rose into 4 equal portions. Get the split as even as you can, using small sharp scissors or a sharp knife.
Place 1 piece of stem in each of the glasses/jars.
Days 2 to 4: Let soak. Observe the results.
