How to make a puffball pizza

Get yourself a puffball! We got ours from a neighbour who finds them in the forest where he rides his bike! Make sure it's an edible puffball. It's a wild mushroom so be careful!!!!

Slice the puffball in slices of 3/4 of an inch. If there is yellow inside, DON'T EAT IT! Should be white.

I had some homemade sausage in the freezer that needed to be used. Cook the sausage and cut into slices.

I raided my sisters garden on the weekend. Got tomatoes, sage and some savoury. So I made a tomato sauce. This recipe is...

6-8 tomatoes, 4-5 sage leaves, pinch of savoury and about 4-5 garlic cloves. Chop everything and put into a pot. Get a boil going, about 10mins then turn down to simmer. Put in blender.

Or if you have a hand blender than use that. Simmer until you get the right consistency. It may take a few hours, but worth the wait! Now you have tomato sauce!

Take one of the slices, on medium heat fry it in some butter. Use as much butter as you want, the puffball will absorb it for flavour. Cook until golden. Then flip it.

Before I flip it , I add a bit more butter for the other side. Fry it until golden. It only takes a few minutes.

Add some tomato sauce on top. Then some sausage and top it off with fresh mozzarella cheese. I put in the oven on broil for a few minutes or until the cheese melts.

Pull out of oven and enjoy!!
