Cut pool noodles into different sizes.  These were 2 1/2, 3, and 4 inches.

Attach screw hook in a spot where you will put up the abacus.

We were making two rows, so we  attached one more screw hook, approx. 12 inches lower.

You will need to knot one end of the rope on one side, and it will string through the other side.  Our abacus was approx six feet wide.

Put noodles on the rope in any pattern you want.  After noodles are all strung on.  Tighten rope and knot off.
