How to make a pizza paddles

Find 8 different pictures of pizza paddles and make a brain storm out of them say what you like about them and what you don't like about them. Also start to think about what shape you what to have.

Now choose your finally design that you would like.

Now draw your template that you want make shore that the handle is not too thin.

Now choose the wood you would like for your pizza paddle maybe you can do a patern.

Now glue your wood together with PVA glue. Remember to use a wet cloth to wipe it if it gets sticky.

When finished gluing put some clamps on the board to help the glue stick.

When the board is glued together we put it through the thicknesser which makes all the wood the same height. Put it through a couple of times.

Then use the yellow 120 sandpaper to sand it when sanding sand it the way of the lines On the wood.

Now take your board to a adult so you can get the top of the board side cut of so it will be easier to slide the pizza onto your board. Then sand it.

Now it is time to copy your final design onto the wood. So put the design on the wood and trace it.

Once your happy with it. It is time to start cutting out your paddle shape with the band saw. Only do one side first.

Once you have cut out one of the sides it is time to sand it. First with the disk sander than the with the yellow 120 sandpaper.

Once you've sanded and cut one side than do the other the same. After do the handle. Make sure the handle is not too thin because it will break.

To make the curves more smooth and rounder use the rounder. It you think you paddle curves or lengths are not the same put your template over the board and see is it is the same.

Now it is time to sand the whole board to get all the rough wood out. You can Use a electric sander then the yellow 120 sandpaper than the grey sandpaper.

From the end of the handle count a 15mm mark with a screwdriver. Then drill it in with a drill press. Then sand in it. You can also sand the board again.

Now you can start to oil your board. Pore only a small part off oil on and spread it over with a cloth on both sides and edges then let is dry. Remember to do it on a glue board.

When it is dry go over it Lightly with some steel wool everywhere on the board. Then redo the oil then steel wool and then one more time.

Now you have finished well done use it well and have a great time using it.
