Place the cabbage in the pot and cover it with water. With adult supervision, heat the pot until the water boils for 5 minutes. Let cool.
Drain the water and keep it. Notice the color of the water.
Divide the cabbage water into 3 different glasses or jars.
Add lemon juice or vinegar to 1 glass. What happens to the color of the water?
Add toothpaste or baking soda to another glass. What happens to the color of the water?
