You will need dark brown & tan polymer clay, pastels, a toothpick, and a hard (prickly) paint brush & a soft paint brush.

First take a small piece of the tan clay and roll it into a ball.

Second, flatten the clay, but don't make it so flat that it's thin. Make sure it's still a little thick.

Next, scrape the clay with the end of the toothpick.

Do this all around the cookie so it looks like this.

Then get the hard (prickly) brush and repeatedly poke the top of the clay.

Next, rub the soft paint brush on the light brown pastel color.

Then, rub the soft brush on the dark brown pastel (Wash the brush before doing this or use another brush if you're not a fan of mixing colors).
