How to make a katniss everdeen braid

Start with clean brushed hair. You can have dry or wet hair. If you have damp hair you will get a nice wave once you take the braid out.

Take a small section out of the front right part of your head and split it into 3 equal parts like you are starting a normal braid.

Start an inside-out or "Dutch" braid. Make sure that you are picking up equal amounts of hair and keep the braid tight.

Continue the braid and start to curve downward.

At this point in the braid it gets easier if you pay attention. You have to continue the braid, curve downward, keep the braid tight, and keep the section above the braid without lumps.

Wrap the braid around your head and get ready to break off and make a normal braid to finish it off.

This is the last step of the braid. Finally pick up the rest of the hair and finish off the braid. Then secure it with an elastic hairband.

Here is your finished Katniss braid! You can put hairspray on it to make it hold longer and put bobby pins in if you want but you don't really need to! May the odds be ever in your favor!
