I will attach the hard hat to a 18 inch by 15 inch cedar board. This picture shows me glueing 2 boards together.
Reinforce your cedar base boards with 2 cedar-board cleats
Using a 1.5 hole-saw, I bored a hole in the center (or top) of the hard hat.
Center the hard hat up on the cedar boards. Use the 1 inch deck screws to attach the hat to the cedar boards.
Use spray paints that adhere to plastic. I used some neutral colors like gray, forest green, brown, and black.
Added 3 layers of gray spray paint to hard hat and boards.
Birds like houses that blend with their environment. I used some pine needles as a "paint brush."
Finished hard hat birdhouse after I painted with pine needles and other colors. Mount the birdhouse 5 feet high, using four 3 inch deck screws.
