Cut out fabric along solid lines
Fold top of pocket over 1/4" and pin in place.
Sew the top of the pocket at 3/8" (line up fold with right side of presses foot) and back stitch at top and bottom.
Pin pocket right sides together along the S dashed line
Sew the bottom of the pocket to the bag at 3/8" (line raw edge of pocket up with right side of presses foot) back stitch at top and bottom
Flip pick up and pin along the sides
Sew the right side of the pocket at 3/8" (line up edge with right side of presser foot) and back stitch at the top of the pocket (near the J)
Then flip and sew the other side at 3/8". Backstitch at the K
Next, cut your strap in half and burn the edges lightly to prevent fraying.
Starting from line H-E and D-A line up half of the strap and pin along the dashed lines down to lines G-F and C-B
Pin strapping in place, then thread your machine in the color that matches your strapping
Sew along the edge following the dashed line.
Now pin the other half of the strapping on the other side. Overlap the strapping by about one inch on each side
Then sew along the edges all the way around the dashed lines again.
Fold the top of the bag from N-M over 1/2" and pin.
Repeat folding and pinning with P-O.
Use the thread that matches your bag. Stitch M-N and O-P keeping the right side of the fold lined up with the right side of the presser foot (3/8") backstitch at the top and bottom of both!
Line the zipper up to one of the sides you just stitched (M-N or O-P) and pin. Be sure you have an equal amount of extra on each side.
Change to the zipper foot "E" and stitch a straight line from M to N. be sure to backstitch at the top and bottom. Be very careful that you don't hit the zipper with your needle.
Repeat pinning on other side.
Flip bag inside out, and repeat sewing. This time, you'll line up the left fold with the left side of the zipper foot.
Continue sewing through the "tunnel" all the way to the end.
Then, pin together both sides from V to U and stitch. Don't forget to backstitch at the top and bottom of the seam. Use the right side of the pressed foot as your guide.
Stitching U to V
Repeat on the second side.
Then, to finish the sides, you'll need to pin and stitch the top and bottom of the box. Again, line up the edge with the right side of the presser foot, and don't forget to backstitch!
When stitching the tops (near the zipper) please use the hand wheel to pass the metal zipper. If your needle hits the zipper it could break. Please be very careful.
Watch that metal piece!
Trim up all of your loose threads and check for holes!
Finally, turn your bag right side out! Congratulations...you did it! 🎈🎉☺
