Gather your supplies to create this gorgeous Mini Trunk Book Album!  You can use assorted trims and elements from your stash to make yours uniquely your own.

Cut chipboard:  2 each@ 4 3/4" x 3", 2 each 3 11/16" x 2 1/4", 4 each 3 11/16" x 3/4" and 4 each 2 1/4" x 3/4" .  Also cut your patterned paper:  2 each 7" x 5 1/4" and 2 each 4" x 5 3/4 each.

Glue a 4 3/4" x 3" chipboard piece to the BACK side of a 4" x 5 3/4" piece of paper, centered side to side and top to bottom. You will make two of these for your covers.

Use a mitering tool or your ruler to angle cut all four corners.  You will want the cut to be about 1/8" from the tip of each corner.

Apply Scor-tape to all four sides of the paper edges on both pieces.

Remove the tape backing and attach the sides down on all four edges.  Use a bone folder to miter the corners to have a nice finished corners.

Glue a 3 11/16" x 2 1/4" piece of chipboard and the 3/4" wide pieces to the back side of  7" x 5 1/4" paper.   Make sure you leave about 1/8" space as shown in the photo. You will make two of these.

Ink all the edges and corners of your boxes and the two pieces you made for the covers.

Line up the two boxes together, use a pen or pencil to mark the holes of your hinges.

Attach the two hinges to your box with brads.  Open up the prongs on the inside and secure with a bit of Glossy Accent.  Make sure you do not glue your box shut.  Allow to dry.

Your box should look like this when the hinges have been attached.  Next you will add the covers to the front and back of the boxes.

Cut two pieces of paper 2 3/4" x 4 1/2" and glue to the backside or inside area of each chipboard cover piece that you wrapped earlier.

If you want a ribbon tie closure, attach your ribbon now.  If you plan to use a magnetic closure you can add it later.  Apply Scor-Tape to each large side of the boxes on the outside.

Cut and ink 2 pieces of patterned paper 3 7/8" tall x 2 1/4" wide for the inside of the boxes.  Glue one into the left side only.  Set the other piece aside until you attach the fold out album pages.

Cut 2 each 12"wide x 3/4" tall paper strips to pattern the inside walls of each box section.  Use glue and start at one corner, wrap & attach all the way around on the inside, crease corners as needed

From Kraft cardstock, cut one piece 12" x 3 3/4". Score the 12" side at 2 1/4", 4 1/2", 6 3/4", 9" and 11 1/4" to fold up into the right side of the box.   See next step before attaching into the box.

Use scor-tape or glue and attach the short tab into the right side of the box so that the pages easily fold into the right section.

Glue the remaining 3 7/8" tall x 2 1/4" wide paper into the right side of the box covering the short tab that holds the pages into the album.

If desired, create a pull knob on the first album page with a decorative metal brad and an eyelet. Punch a hole on the page where you want the pull to be. (Continued in next step)

Insert the eyelet from the back and then insert the brad from the front through the eyelet. Open the prongs, secure with tape. You do not set the eyelet but use the height of it for the pull.

Pattern the pages with papers from the collection. Fussy cut different elements to decorate the outside of your box, the inside and each page.  Add assorted flowers, ribbons, trim, buttons & charms.

Magnetic Closure: Add black cardstock to the back of a key hole. If your box is already patterned on the inside, glue the top portion only to the top part of the box.

Cut the prongs off of two brads and glue the brad heads to the holes of the key hole. Attach a large magnet paper snap on  the opposite side of the box on the outside as shown in this photo.

Attach an opposing magnet paper snap to the back of the keyhole as shown in this photo. Do not cover the magnets with paper. You want them exposed so they can slide apart when  you open your box.
