How to make a graphic 45 children's hour september card

Begin by creating a 5" wide x 7" tall pocket card base from brown cardstock. You do not have to build the pocket, but you will not be able to insert the tags on the inside without one. Set base aside

Cut a 4" x 6" panel of red dot paper from prints & patterns. Machine stitch onto a slightly larger piece of natural burlap. Fringe edges & trim. If you do not want to sew, just glue paper to burlap.

Cut brown banner to measure 3" x 5.5". To create fishtail, fold in half and cut at 45 degree angle. Cut green banner to measure 2.25x 4.25. Ink all cut edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Glue banner pieces onto the red dot panel as seen here.

Add a doily. You can die cut from white cardstock, or use a packaged doily. This is a laser cut doily from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

Fussy cut image of girl from the 12x12 Children's Hour September paper. Include apple, postage stamp and wildflowers. Ink edges. Add dimension with foam spacers or waste chipboard. Attach w/glue.

Add crochet lace to base of image. Create a wreath by wrapping burlap around the 4 fingers of one hand. Shape into circle. Hold in place with very small dots of hot glue.

Tap bronze frame with Black Archival ink. While ink is still wet, use it to stamp a frame around the image you want to use inside the frame. Trim the image with scissors. Glue with Glossy Accents.

Cover image with a layer of Glossy Accents. Let this dry, then use more Glossy Accents to attach frame to the card, as seen here.

Cut apple border strip to width of card, making fishtail banners on each end. Glue apple button onto paper clip and attach to the border. Back border with waste chipboard or foam spacers and glue down

Add chipboard title above border. Attach sentiment charm to small tag with burlap. Tuck behind image as seen here.

Wrap pen nib with burlap string. Glue below chipboard title. Glue used pencil below apple border. Almost finished!

Distress the edges of a 4.5" x 6.5" piece of brown cardstock. Glue the card panel to the brown cardstock. Cut, distress and ink 5x7 panel of July paper.

Center chipboard on the July paper panel. Glue in place. Now glue the prepared card front to the chipboard to create dimension. Glue the whole panel onto the prepared 5x7 brown card base.

Here's one more look at the details of the card. Now we will finish the outside with ribbon, burlap bow and Petaloo flowers.

Cut fishtails on 4" length of 1.5" wide crocheted lace. Fold in half and glue on left hand side of the card using hot glue. Tie a 6 loop bow with burlap string and glue to center of crocheted lace.

Glue green Petaloo Anemone on top of ribbon cluster. Tuck a small red Botanical mini on either side of the larger flower and glue in place. The front of the card is now finished!

Here's the inside of my card. A mini envelope was die cut from kraft paper with Tammy Tutterow's deco edge die. The pocket is filled with an ephemera card & 2 decorated regular kraft Staples tags.

The Deco Edge Mini Envelope also cuts a small journal piece. I decorated the envelope with a banner piece and this cute cut apart image. Borders and a small tag also decorate the top half of the card.

Here's the bottom half of the card with a pocket. I cut 8.5" x 11' cardstock to a width of 5". Then I trim the cut off bit into 5" widths and piece onto the bottom edge, folding up to form a pocket.

G45 Staples Regular Kraft Tags are decorated with images from the cut apart pages. I die cut a circle with Spellbinder's Exquisite Circles and glued above the pocket. The border is a sticker.
