Clip the pins off the thumb tacks while the hot  glue gun is warming up. You will only be using the thumb tack heads.

Place a small amount of glue at the top of your egg and glue your first tack on. Continue glueing in a tiered pattern around the first tack. Each tack should cover 1/4-1/2 the tacks above and besides

Continue placing glue, then tacks in the tiered, circular pattern until you reach the bottom of the egg.

If you want your egg to stand up on it's own, leave a dime-sized area at the bottom without any glue or tacks. This will keep the bottom flat and your egg sturdy!
