STEPS
TOOLS
Gather up all of your supplies. Cut a piece of Steampunk Debutante: Eclectic Emporium wide enough to cover a Mixed Media 5x5 Box. This will cover the top, back side and back.
When you cut your paper, you will see the white core. To camouflage this simply run a dark ink pad against the edges to hide the white core.
Attach the cut pieces to the box. I'm going to cut out the frame window AFTER the glue dries.
The sides of the box are being covered with Steampunk Debutante: Victorian Transformers. Again, ink those edges for a perfect finish.
Once dried in place, you can take a sharp blade to cut out the window of the Media Box.
If you sand the edges of the cut window, you'll get a perfect fit. Be sure to ink those edges too.
For the inside of the box I've used Steampunk Debutante: Time Flies
Next, I cut some trim.
I frame the box opening with the cut pieces and apply an Antique Brass Stamped Metal Brad to each corner
Gather some decorative elements you'd like to include.
Don't be confined by inside/outside! Have floral elements popping out of the frame.
Add a beautiful main focus graphic. I've applied foam squares to the back of the window and then applied the image to give some extra depth.
On the exterior I add fussy cut butterflies.
For a clean, finished look inside the box, I use one of the cards that come with the media box to cover the back of the main decorative element.
An Antique Brass Metal Clock Key and Antique Brass Metal Door Knob are glued together for a handle.
Finally, more butterflies and a sentiment is added.
All that's left is to add notes, dreams and memories to keep in your box :)
