How to make a friendship bracelet

Start with the supplies. The length of the thread is your arm length doubled. Mine is just slightly shorter as I'm making it for my little niece 😀

Gather the thread together and tie a knot near the loop.

Tape it to secure it and separate the threads.

This is to make a chevron style bracelet. Starting with the pale lilac (far left) thread, make an 'L' shape across the other threads.

Feed the end of the lilac thread over the pink thread to make a loop and pull to the top to create a knot. Repeat it again to create a double knot on the same thread.

Then feed the end of the lilac thread over and under the purple thread to make a loop and pull to the top to create a knot. Repeat it again to create a double knot on the same thread.

The lilac thread is now in the third position from the left.

Repeat the same procedure from the right hand side. Starting with the pale lilac (far right) thread, make an inverted 'L' shape across the other threads and feed the end under the pink thread and pull

Create another double knot. Repeat on the purple thread and create a double knot. The lilac threads will be in the centre positions.

Take the right lilac thread and make a knot over the left lilac thread, repeat to create a double knot.

Repeat steps 4 - 10 for each of the threads.

It should start to look like the picture.

If you want to add a bead, create a knot in the centre, then feed the bead through one of the centre threads and create the double knot.

Repeat the steps creating the double knots on each thread, adding beads as appropriate.

Once you've reached the desired length tie a knot at the other end. The bracelet is complete 😄
