Make a Foosball Game Out of a Shoebox

STEPS
TOOLS
Get a shoebox
Cut off the lid
Hold a ping pong ball up to the side and draw a square around it
Like this. Be sure it’s larger than the ping pong ball. Cut it out with an exacto knife.
Like this. Now bend it down.
Like this.
Trace the square on a piece of paper and cut it out. This way both sides will be the same size.
Trace around the paper on the other side of the box.
Cut it out and fold it down.
Be sure the ping pong ball can easily roll through.
Decorate 5 clothes pins in one color and 5 clothes pins in a different color. You can use markers or washi tape. Now you have two teams.
This is the front and back of one team.
This is the front and back of the other team. I did two different tapes on each so that we can have 4 different choices of team colors.
Measure the knitting needles to know where to poke the holes.
Draw a line above the clothes pin so that they’ll hang high enough.
Like this. They’ll be hanging by the hole.
Poke 4 holes using a pen.
These are all my holes.
Be sure a dowel or a knitting needle will go through the holes easily.
Poke the dowel or knitting needle straight through the hole and poke it through the other side. Make sure the holes are even in height.
(Go straight and push it through)
(Like this)
Now put a rubber band on the other side, this will prevent the needle from slipping through.
Repeat for all four dowels or knitting needles.
Attach your clothes pins. Make sure they don’t hit the wall of the box or the needle in front of them.
Put them downward.
In between the 2 teams, write the numbers 1-5 on both sides. These will be your scoreboards. Use clothes pins to keep track of your scores.
(Keeping score for the purple team)
Both teams ready.
Drop the ball in and go! Hit the ball by spinning the clothespins. When you get the ball through the other person’s goal, you get a point. First one to 5 points wins!
To keep score, just put the clothes pin on the number you’re on.
