Gather your supplies on a flat, open surface.
Cut the fabric into two even pieces that are slightly bigger than the pillow.
Lay the wrong side up of one piece of fabric, and place your pillow on top of it. Then put the second piece on top, with the right side facing up.
Cut 1" pieces from both pieces of fabric. Try to get as close to the pillow as you can, without snipping it!
Cut strands from all four sides of the pillow. Tip: for thicker fringe, cut wider strips.
Tie the pairs of strips together, one from the bottom and one from top, in a double knot. Make sure to tie the strips in order. Once all four sides are tied, your pillow is complete!
Additional tips: to simplify this activity, create an outline of the pillow with masking tape to show where to stop cutting the strands.
You can also mark lines for your strands on the masking tape to ensure even pieces!
