How to make a fishtail bracelet with elastics and pens

You will need 50 elastics with an approximate diameter of half an inch.

One clamp. These are usually included in the elastic packs.

You need two pens with smooth ends.

Twist the first elastic in a figure eight.

Add a second elastic but do not twist this one.

Add a third elastic and do not twist this one. Make sure that you follow your preferred color pattern if desired.

Bring the bottom right elastic over the top of the pen on the right.

Continue to bring over the top and drop the elastic in the center.

Leave this dropped elastic in the center.

Repeat this process on the left side by bringing up the elastic on the left side and drop in the center.

Two dropped stitches in the center.

Add the next elastic.

Repeat the process by pulling the bottom right elastic over the pen on the right.

Drop the stitch in the center.

Repeat for the left side.

Drop the stitch to the center.

Continue adding one elastic at a time and repeating the process of pulling the elastics over the pens toward the center.

Drop the elastic in the center. Pull the bracelet in the center between the pens to stretch out and settle the placement of the elastics.

Make the bracelet as long as desired, hold the end of the bracelet with your fingers and pull off the pens. I like to remove one elastic before attaching the clamp that is provided with the elastics.

Remove one elastic.

Add clamp and join to the other end of the bracelet.
