How to make a fishtail band bracelet by hand (no loom)

Bands, plastic straws, eraser

Plastic clamp

Hold eraser between two hard plastic straws to keep them separate.

Loop band in figure eight between straws.

Add next color and starting color.

Pull bottom band over top two.

This shows detail of both right and left sides moving over two bands.

The first elastic is now loose between the other two added second and third.

Add color so there are two of the same so that bottom band matches top band each time.

Pull over top two bands.

Now next color is loose.

Continue alternating colors.

Tug at bottom of elastics to pull into place as you move along.

Here is small fishtail start. Continue to desired length.
