STEPS
TOOLS
Hello ! Im ready to continue :) I hope u are too because we're almost there ! Take any black fabric or fleece - cut a circle out for his nose :) fold the fabric so u can get two for one noses
This is kaiser vi's baby hehe - he says ur almost finished ! Quit looking at me and get going kekeke
Should look like this :8) nose face - its about an inch
Place the nose down to see if thats where u want it :3 i like it right about here. Glue time !
Apply a thin layer and press down. Let it dry and do the same for the other nose hole
Now the tricky part. The eyes. I first started cutting circles but my bf said he wanted the goofy eye look, grab ur scraps. Take the white & leave the bottom flat. Use the edges & squish the rest up
Example: im taking the rest & pressing into the eyeball to give it some bend. Take ur glue and start gluing the middle in. Ur fingers are going to get a lil sticky but its ok.
Another example this is how the bottom looks which will turn into the top of the eyeball. Im carefully squishing everything else behind and tucking in anything behind this view
Another example how im gluing. Apply and press in sticky icky but keep holding the eyeball the way u want until it starts to dry. Blowing on it kinda helps the drying speed up
Another view : its starting to get hard and im just constantly patting down and applying glue if needed to hold it in place
Tada ! Should look something like this :3 hahaha so cute place them down to see how ud like it. And get ready to glue them down onto the face
Gluing down left eye
Gluing down the right. Again u can experiment where u want to put ur eyes
Press down the goofy eyeballs
Ding hahha now onto the eyes
Cut out the folded black from earlier. Less than an inch and two should come out
Glue time once again :3 now watch donkey come to life !
Pat pat pat down the eye
Other eye pat pat pat
Hahah so cute :3 now we need to put the ears, the head, and face altogether
Ok so I laid out the pieces we will be working with next. Remember the ears that we set aside to dry :? Grab those, we're turning them inside and out
If u are able to stick ur hand in - im grabbing the point and using my left hand to push in and gently pull it out. If u can't u can take a non sharp point stick, push it through gently & then pull
The stem wire is glued so dont worry it shouldn't come off. Pull the ear through like this.
Mold the ear so it takes its true form
Yeahhhh we have donkey ears :3
Now take the ears and place the front ear face down on the donkey head. Shown here. Do the same for the other ear
Should look like this. Now take the back curve of the head piece and place it over the ears.
Line all the pieces together
Here's another view. Some like to use needles to hold their fabric pieces in place. I like to use clamps.
Take a clamp or needle and start holding ur line in place for sewing.
Clamp down or needle down wherever u feel needs to be. U can see the layers
Put the clamp piece to the side and grab ur bottom head pieces like so. We're going to sew the back bottom to the front bottom.
Sew
Should look like this :)
Take the head (ear face back) the one we clamped down and sew together. Heavy duty sewing machine - i actually wanted to be safe and i hand rotated the wheel when it got to thick areas. Be careful :3
Yeahhh should look like this when finished. Now take the face bottom and place it upside down onto the face (eyes). We're going to sew the bottom face on. The seams shouldn't be on the inside
Start here and sew a u shape like right ear / To chin / then finish left ear
When u finish, turn donkey head inside out. This is how it should look :3 hahaa
Remember ur scraps :? Time to stuff the donkey head so it has a dimensional face ! Squish squish
Yeahhh
Another view
here's another tricky part. If u want to leave the ears down like Disney eeyore then skip this step. I wanted the ears to point up. Take a seam ripper & make a small opening where we put the stem in
Take 4 stems and roll two together like before. Turn them into a fish symbol and stick them inside the ear (middle) leaving the ends sticking out.
Take a single stem and twist it like this. We're making a base to hold both ears together.
Looks like a stick figure haha k were going to twist this into the ears stems and make a u shape inside towards the forehead
Another view sorry if i couldn't show u the u shape - taking pics with no hands is tough
Kk now sew the bottoms together like so. In this pic i am now taking the top of the hood, flatten it down and placing the donkey head in to see where to glue it down.
Another view pressing down and making sure its flat. Placing the head on top of this. u can have the model try the hoodie on and see how far u need to put the head (drop over the model face)
Glue time :)
When u have ur head in place the way u want, fold over the back like so and glue down. Again thin layers and all over this time
Press down and glue edges or anywhere if needed
When it dries, it should look like this :3 im holding it up as if someone is wearing it
Time for hair on the donkey :) cut a piece out - note this fabric is like a dog shedding be ready to lightly pull any loose hair off after u cut
Place the hair down the way u want. I made the tip pointy so it can fall over to the eyes a bit. Glue down :)
Press down and wait for it to dry.
Time for the tail. I just cut a single layer out by eye
Use ur hair scrap and cut a small bushy tail end
Glue on the butt of the sweater hah and glue the tail bushy End. The tail is done :)
My model (bf) tried it on and i noticed the ears were still flopping a little too much so to fix this - take some glue and behind the bottom of the ear (back) glue an inch down
Here's an example. Press down and let it dry
Tada !!!! After its dry :3 allllll done i hope u liked and thanks for viewing !!! - to make the donkey a punch haha hes going to get on the side boxing gloves and shorts. Happy halloween and thanks !
Hahaha
Pika says finally done now lets play !!!!!
Success found red boxing gloves and shorts :3 and there ya go! Ur donkey punch costume
