How to make a delicious tuna salad sandwich
This was my Mom's basic recipe and using your creativity, you can make it your own! So many possibilities!

INGREDIENTS
Gather your ingredients.
Open the can - one can of tuna will make 2-3 sandwiches.
Drain out the water.
Use a fork to break up the canned tuna.
Finely chop about 1/4 onion and add that to the tuna. Add more or less based on your own taste - this is all about making this recipe your own!
Add mayonnaise - I'm using a mixture of Miracle Whip Salad Dressing and mayonnaise made with olive oil. Start with about 2 tablespoon and then slowly add more until it has the consistency you like.
Like this. Though some folks like it moister and some folks like it less moist. It's all up to you!
Now we add the spices. I keep it simple, just like mom used to make - salt, pepper, dill. But feel free to get creative - curry, garlic, parsley, sage, thyme, LOTS of possibilities!
I add yellow or Dijon mustard. Consider adding capers, finely chopped olives, pickles, relish, celery, hard egg, peppers, tomatoes, the list goes on and on. I experiment a lot but also love it simple.
Clean some lettuce. This recipe is for a tuna salad sandwich but you can choose instead to put the tuna salad on a bed of lettuce and serve just like that.
I toast my bread & spread a bit more mayonnaise on each slice. If you're making this sandwich to eat later, put lettuce on each slice with the tuna in the middle. That way the bread won't get soggy.
Add the tuna. You can also add a thin slice of cheese, tomato, purple onion, pickles, lots of options!
Yum! Ready to serve. And eat! You can even make a basic recipe and then put out a "buffet" of other ingredients so each person can make it to their own liking.
Want a hot tuna sandwich? Just wrap it in foil and put it in a 350°F oven for about 10-15 minutes, until the tuna is heated. This is especially delicious with melted cheese.
All gone! Hope you like it and do follow me for more yummy recipes from my family to yours. Enjoy!
