I'm racing in the St. Patrick's day race this weekend and wanted to wear something fun for the occasion. This is what I came up with.

Cut yourself a strip about this big, this will be fashioned into the belt. Repeat with all three colors.

Tie them together. Leave some length at the end, it will make a cute embellishment when you're done.

Use something to hold the end that you just tied down.

When you're close to finishing wrap it around your waist to make sure it's long enough. Then tie the other end, leaving some length.

Next your going to start cutting your strips for the skirt. You want your first cut to be twice the length that you want the skirt to be.

If you already have strips cut you can use them as a ruler for length. (This will be helpful after your first color.)

You'll end up with a bunch of individual strips when you're done. (It really doesn't take that long because the look of your cut is not important.)

Next grab the belt you made earlier and grab the end that is more tightly braided.

When finished leave one loop. I ended up with extra strips but if you notice you're running out I would suggest saving one as a ruler so you can cut more.

To put it on just tie the ends of the braided belt together.
