Preheat oven to 350 degrees
            
            
        

            
                Add 2 cups of white sugar into a medium bowl
            
            
        

            
                Add 1 3/4 cup of flour to the same bowl
            
            
        

            
                Grease 2 nine-inch round pans
            
            
        

            
                Add 3/4 cup cocoa powder
            
            
        

            
                Add 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
            
            
        

            
                Add 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
            
            
        

            
                Add 1 teaspoon salt
            
            
        

            
                Mix all dry ingredients together
            
            
        

            
                Crack 2 eggs into the dry ingredient mixture
            
            
        

            
                Add 1 cup of milk
            
            
        

            
                Add 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
            
            
        

            
                Add 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
            
            
        

            
                Mix all the ingredients together
            
            
        

            
                Boil 1 cup of water to add to the cake mixture
            
            
        

            
                Add 1 cup of hot water to cake mix
            
            
        

            
                The batter should have a thin consistency
            
            
        

            
                Distribute the batter evenly into the two greased pans
            
            
        

            
                Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes
            
            
        

            
                Put first layer of icing on top of the first cake
            
            
        

            
                Place the second cake on top
            
            
        

            
                Put icing on the entire cake
            
            
        

            
                Add chocolate shavings
            
            
        

            
                Decorate and serve
