First make a template of the front of the bird house

Using trace paper mark in the entrance. Then draw the character you choose. This one is a fun bear.

Transfer the drawing to hard paper and make templates of each piece.

Trace onto cedar and paint if desired each template

The nose was cut with a scroll saw and the 1 1/2 inch hole cut using a forsner bit and a drill press.

Ears are two layers and eye pupils are a large button.

Paint the house to match. Nail all the pieces with glue as well to the bird house.
