After searching Craigslist for a few days, I kept finding people selling chalkboards for way too much, and plus I didn't like the styles either. So, I decided to make my own!!!

I found this little gem at CCA for $1.99.

First thing is to take the backing off and peel off any film if necessary.

Before you paint the glass or plastic, be sure to lay down some sort of drop cloth. Also, be sure that the glass (or plastic) is clean.

Spray evenly with Rustoleum Chalkboard Paint. I applied 2 coats. Once dry, hold it up in the light to be sure there are no holes.

While the first coat of chalkboard paint is drying, you can go ahead and start painting the frame.

Once you've applied both coats, you should now have a chalkboard. Lets put it back in the frame.

Finally, grab the chalk and get creative. There's no right or wrong way to do this part, just whatever you think looks good.
