I used spray adhesive, that worked well, but for the next one I'm going to use gloves as I have glue all over my fingers. I would also use newspaper to get all of the overspray

I sprayed a liberal amount on the can till it was tacky

I used my glue gun to hold down the initial twine.

And just keep wrapping and pressing it down into the glue

Glue gun the end and you're done. I'm going to use sand or small stones to weigh it down, then use a tea candle inside. It took about 10 min to make, start to finish
