How to make a bowl from candy
My son and I make this bowl every New Year's Eve and then we fill it with home-made chepotle kettle corn. This is an easy guide to show you how to make a bowl that is both pretty and eatable.
Arrange the candy any way you like, as long as you make a circle.
Preheat the oven to 350 F ( it says 325 here, but I have it set to convection so it always shows 25 degrees cooler). Place the candy in the oven. Don't leave or you'll burn it!
When the candy is melted flat then it is ready to be pulled out.
When the bowl starts to stiffen, but before it can't be bent, place the candy over a large bowl and gently push it down over the bowl in order to give it shape. Allow it to cool and harden completely.
Fill the bowl with something cool and take it to a party. People get a kick out a bowl that you can eat.
Here is an overview of the process.
- 1.0 Bag of hard candy such as jolly ranchers
- 1.0 Box of candy canes
- Parchment paper
