cut the apple in one of the rounded sides

cut a notch out of both sides next to the flat side

then cut a notch out of the side of the apple that has yet to be cut

In the cuts on the side and bottom do the same design again and slide it back on that

put all the cut out notches back to the parts where they were cut but push them back from the original spot

out of the circular cut you made in step one cut a semi circle out it and cut a hole in the top of the so called bird

place the semi circle cut out into the small hole you made in the top
