STEPS
TOOLS
Lay fabric flat on the ground.
Fold well fitting jeans showing the curve of the back of the leg.
Lay out with the front of the legs along the fold and the tush towards the center of the fabric.
Trace about 2" away from the waist to the crotch area. Once at the crotch, draw straight to the ankle.
Cut along where you traced. I went extra wide here.
I used an accent trim for cuffs. You can skip this step - this is optional.
Optional cuffs.
Attaching cuffs to bottom of pant legs.
Sew cuffs onto pant legs and waist.
Sew up the legs from cuff to crotch. Do NOT sew up to the waist!
Attach the two "u" pieces from one leg to the other and sew.
Take elastic and sew ends together. I make my waistband 1-2" shorter than my actual waist size.
Sew into waistband (which can just be the top of the pants - remember - I used an alternate fabric for a waist band).
Fold over and sew again.
