Any oil will work but I prefer coconut oil. I purchase my oil in bulk and store a smaller portion in my canning jar for daily use. (the many daily uses can be the topic for discussion later as well)

Place a thin coating of oil on the pan including the sides  This is the part where you show love to this pot.  This is also the time where you begin to fantasize about your future cooking projects.

Set the pot on the lowest flame warming completely.  Consider this the part where you are creating the Teflon-like coating without the icky Teflon.  Gently wipe away excess oil with a paper towel
