I'm using a Red Heart Boutique Midnight yarn with size 6mm needles.

Cast on in multiples of 3, here I cast on 27 stitches with a size 6mm needle. See my snap guide on how to do a long tail cast on.

For row 3: knit and increase 3 stitches evenly in the row, so you'll now have 30 stitches on the needle. See next video on how to increase a stitch.

Now for the pattern: knit 1, yarn over, knit 2 together. Continue this pattern for the rest of the rows. See the next video for the pattern!

I ended up switching the yarn to a thick wool and I picked a needle one size bigger than the recommended size.

Continue this pattern till your scarf is long enough.

To end the pattern, last 3 rows: knit 1 row while decreasing (knit 2 together) 3 stitches. The last 2 rows knit. Then bind off loosely.

The end product, I made a buttonhole on one side and a button on the other end.

Tip: I think this pattern is good with thicker/chunkier yarn!
