How to install a diy solar attic fan

Here is a DIY solar attic fan project for ~$60. Since I'm cheap I refused to pay the $300+ for a manufactured solution.

Cut two 13" pieces of wood for mounts and painted them as close to the roof tile color as possible

Mounts in place. Let dry for at least 2+ hours

Pulled  16 gauge wire through attic and pushed out vent

Ran wire over to solar panel location

Used wood screws to mount fan using the corner holes previously drilled and attached wiring. Again, Positive (+) to positive, negative (\u2013) to negative.

  • 1.0 Camping Fan - 12v DC (camping section)
  • 50.0ft 16 gauge wire
