STEPS
TOOLS
When working on the 'Written Tasks,' remind students to be prosumers, not just consumers. This is their chance to give back, to reflect on what they see, read, and hear. Experiment and innovate.
Preparing for the end of program exams means that you have thought about the influence of the media over two years. How do learn to define 'normal,' through what we watch?
Students analyze and create a variety of text types, including social media posts, blogs, and videos. Conduct ethical remixing experiments in the classroom.
Promote design literacy--layout is purposeful. Students can create images, designs, and sound effects. Allow students to design things on their own. Encourage them to share what they've made.
Question what you read. Look for bias. Come to your own conclusions and always look for new perspectives. Challenge an argument by conducting more research.
