Learn how to create this fun dimensional hot air balloon embellishment using Graphic 45 Imagine 12x12 Patterns and Solids, "Create Yourself" Stamp, Markers and a bone folder. It's so easy!
You will stamp, color, fussy cut, fold and glue. Easy techniques that create a really eye catching embellishment.
Begin by stamping the hot air balloon from the Graphic 45 "Create Yourself" Acrylic Stamp Sheet onto the gold word collage paper from the 12x12 Patterns and solids pad. Use Jet Black Archival Ink.
Stamp two whole balloons images with the basket. Stamp 12 sets of just the balloon. Then color with Distress Markers, spritz with water to blend the ink, heat dry and fussy cut.
Find the 2 whole balloon images. Adhere foam tabs to the top of one balloon as seen in the photo.
Align the 2nd balloon carefully over the foam tabs. Press to adhere. This is the base for our embellishment.
Fold the 12 balloon tops in half as seen here. Use a bone folder to crease the fold well.
Adhere the left hand side of the first scored and folded balloon topper to the left hand side of the hot air balloon base. Repeat this step with all the remaining scored and folded balloon tops.
It will look like this.
When the final balloon top has been adhered to the final left hand flap, it is time to adhere the right hand flap to the right hand side of the hot air balloon base.
When the balloon is complete, sponge the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress ink. Then heat emboss the edges with Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Powder. Spray lightly with Antique Bronze Mica Spray.
Line the back side of a Tim Holtz Baseboard Frame with the gold stripe paper from the 12" x 12" Imagine paper collection.
Adhere the balloon embellishment to the liner using foam tabs. I added a Tim Holtz Quote Chip and some Prills to my frame. Then I adhered it to my prepared Tim Holtz Mini Clipboard.
This is a quick and easy way to dress up a card front, an altered frame, a layout or any papercrafting project. I hope you enjoyed this quick & easy tutorial. Thanks for joining me! Happy crafting!
