I'm trying to get you the cheapest way out.
Welcome to the wonderful world of horse showing!! If you didn't read the supplies, I recommend doing so..
First things first.. You will be needing a horse.. Whoa!! I know, who would of thought that you would need a horse for horse showing.. CRAZY!
I've been riding since I was 5, showing since I was 8, and giving lessons since I was 16.. I have a fairly good Idea of what I'm doing...
Money...you need money... A lot... $$$$$$$$
There is 3 main types of showing. Saddle seat, hunt seat, and western... Either way, you're screwed with cost..
You need saddles, bridles, hoof oil, bits, brushes, first aid, money, someone who knows what they're doing, money, money, pens, paper, money...
First you need boots.. Paddock boots ( short ones) if you're under the age of 8. Tall boots if over. Price range: 20-600 dollars...
Western time: boots must match the color of your chaps.. Price range: 20- 300ish dollars
Saddle seat: black shiny paddock boots.. Price: 50-300
Hunt seat: Breeches, color: olive, brown or a shade if tan. $20-50ish. For dressage you need white.
Western: chaps, usually black or brown.. They have pink ones, but don't wear those to a show! Jeans with fancy belt and buckle. Chaps: 50-300$
Hunt seat: short sleeve shirt with collar, must be able to button collar.. Any color you choose! Usually about 40 bucks
Hunt seat: the god awful hunt coat... Black, green, blue, or brown. Price range :50-400 dollars..
Coat and shirt..
Western: the ever so lovely plaid shirt, so cheap! 20, 30 bucks tops.. Now you can go all doped up with sequin shirts, but im trying to give you the cheapest way out.
Saddle seat: long coat, multiple colors. Price range: 100-700 The pants must match your coat color
Western: cowboy hat!!! Fairly cheap, 20-200 give or take.. 200 for a super doped up nice one!
Hunt seat: black velvet helmet. Price: 40-100
Saddle seat: top hat.. Snazzy!! $40-100+
Western attire.. You'll always look snazzy!
Hunt seat attire. No matter how fat or thin you are.. You will look like a marshmallow in stilts...
Also for hunt and saddleseat, you need leather gloves. 20-30$
I don't own my own saddle seat clothes.. You can borrow clothes from other people, if you so choose..but you can only do that for so long.
If you have extra $ get a garment bag,
And rubber shoe things to go over your boots.
I almost forgot aboot snappy pants!!! You needz yo snappy pantz!
Have a good luck charm, or something you think is lucky and have it in your pocket.
Hunt seat... See! Marshmallow on stilts!
Hunt seat (dressage)
If you have time take your ponies and friend through the McDonald's drive through.. :) it's awesome!!
You need a hair box.. It's a pain in ze azz to do your hair sometimes..
Hair box, you can keep it all in a bag, but this works out a little better.
Bobby pins will be your new best friend..
This is a simpler hair net, I braid my hair and them put it in, but you basically could just put if in a bun and go.
The lunch lady hair net.. Lots of pins, tears, and time for these.
Brush and alot of hair ties.
Safety pins, not for your hair. Use them to pin on your number.
You need a trailer and a truck/SUV.. Price range: a lot!! 1000-30,000+ probably more than that..
If you ride hunt seat, you need to know how to braid.. You can find videos on YouTube.. Running braid, button braid, and tail braid.. Just an FYI.. Button braids are a pain in the butt!
You go, you kick ass, and brag about it! Even if you didn't place, unless they were there, they don't know..
