How to get a start in terraria

first, you need to get some wood. take out your axe and chop from the bottom of the tree.

next, I suggest you get a wooden sword. you will need this to defend yourself.

then, go on a mining trip. don't go to far down as it gets harder and harder as you go. get some copper and come back up.

get some stone (can be found on the surface) and craft some torches and make a furnace.

smelt the ore you collected and do what you want with it.

then make a house to have npcs move in (says how to make a house in how to play).

then do what ever you can to survive!
