How to focus a compound light microscope

First, plug in your microscope to a power source

Make sure to turn your microscope on

After turning it on, make sure the light source is on.

Turn your nose piece to the lowest power.

Use the coarse adjustment knob to bring your specimen into focus. DO NOT USE THIS KNOB AGAIN 🚫

Observe your specimen

Turn your nose piece to the medium power

Use the fine adjustment knob to bring the specimen into a sharper view

DO NOT USE THIS KNOB

Turn the nose piece to the highest power and repeat the same focusing process you used for the medium power.
