Gather supplies!! Seam rippers are easy to find, clamps or clothespins from the dollar store, and a good adhesive. E-6000 or Gorilla Glue works too

Look at the back, if there is a back seam I leave the center back untouched. Your goal is to NOT destroy your fave flats. Also, to state the obvious, you may not want to do this to an expensive pair.

Carefully find the top seam, and ease the seam ripper between the inner and outer shoe. Carefully pop a few stitches (about an inch).

Should look like this- you should be able to see the elastic. Mine had adhesive on it, so just gently pull apart the layers.

Gently, use your seam ripper to slice the elastic- all the way from the top to the bottom edge. Repeat on the other side of the shoe.

Next, insert the tip of the glue bottle into the slit, and squeeze a LITTLE bit of glue in. You can always add more, but a good adhesive is a pain to clean if you use too much! Spread the glue evenly

Using the clamps or clothespins, press the two sides together, and allow the glue the proper time to dry- usually about 24 hours. Repeat for the other shoe!
