How to find the area of a cirlce

Place pencil in compass like so.

Draw a circle by placing the compass on the paper and rotate the paper keeping the pointed end and pencil end on the paper completely still.

When you have completed your circle, draw a line with a ruler across the middle of it. Make sure to mark the middle of your circle so your line can pass over it. That way you know it's the middle.

This line is called the diameter. Now we need to find the radius of the circle. All you need to do is divide the diameter by 2 and your answer will be the radius.

Now we need to square the radius. That means we have to multiply the radius by it's self. For example if the radius was 4 we would go 4x4.

With your squared number you must multiply that by pi, also know as 3.14.

Once you have multiplied the squared radius by Pi, you will have the area of a circle!
